Splendid Care Agency Limited has zero tolerance for modern slavery and human trafficking in any form. We are dedicated to acting responsibly and with honesty and transparency in all business interactions, as well as implementing strong procedures and controls to prevent any form of modern slavery from occurring within the company or its supply chains.

Our company provides temporary staffing services to the health and social care business in Bedfordshire, and nearby counties.
The business plan of Splendid Care Agency Limited is implemented ethically, socially, and environmentally responsibly. We recognise our obligation to uphold human rights as outlined in the International Bill of Human Rights. The IBHR guides all of our policies pertaining to the rights and liberties of every individual who works for us, whether as a direct employee, agency worker, or indirectly through our supplier chain. In addition, we are committed to applying the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights throughout all of our businesses. Respect for the dignity of the individual and the significance of each person's human rights are the foundation of the behaviours we expect in every workplace across the nation.
We will not tolerate any sort of discrimination, harassment, or bullying, and all of our supervisors are required to implement policies that promote equal opportunity and inclusion for all employees, including agency workers. In addition, we have designed and executed rules and procedures aimed at extending these commitments across our supply chain.

Policies

We have a number of internal policies to ensure that our business practices are ethical and transparent.

 

• Human Rights Policy and our Ethics Policy, in which we affirm that we will not accept or condone the violation of human rights in any aspect of our business or supply chains and that we will take seriously any complaints that human rights are not being adequately respected.

• Whistleblowing, a policy directed mostly at our employees, but also accessible to others in our supply chains, which encourages employees to report any misconduct, including abuses of human rights such as modern slavery. We will work closely with social care and health providers to ensure that our policies and procedures are aligned with local processes and best practises and that any reports will be thoroughly reviewed.

Supply networks
​

Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, candidate sourcing for clients. This may involve external agencies introducing candidates to Splendid Care Agency Limited for supply to our clients. By subscribing to our Supplier Code of Do, we expect our suppliers and potential suppliers to uphold high ethical standards and conduct business in an ethical, legally compliant, and professional way. We also expect our vendors to promote comparable supply chain standards.
Before permitting a provider to become a preferred supplier, we do due diligence on each one. We conduct an online check to guarantee that no company has ever been convicted of modern slavery-related crimes, and we incorporate our modern slavery policy in our contracts with all of our suppliers. Suppliers must attest that none of their business practises contradict this guideline. As part of our agreement with suppliers, they affirm the following:​

1. They have taken measures to eliminate modern slavery from their operations.

2. They hold their suppliers accountable for modern slavery.

3.  For UK-based suppliers, they pay their employees at least the national minimum wage/national living wage (as applicable) and ensure that within their overseas supply chains, where UK-based suppliers have overseas supply chains, their employees' pay is consistent with their national minimum wage requirements, working conditions are safe and fair, child labour is not used, and working hours are not excessive.

4. We may terminate the agreement at any time if evidence of modern slavery is uncovered.

 

Risk Assessments

Our supply chains encompass the acquisition of personnel, consumables, facility maintenance, utilities, and waste management [insert additional domains]. We have undertaken a risk assessment and will take additional efforts to ensure that we support the eradication of modern slavery, that our employees understand how to identify modern slavery, and that the necessary safeguarding reporting mechanisms are followed if there are issues within our supply chains, with customers or suppliers.

We seek to promote transparency and will help anyone who raises serious concerns in good faith in accordance with this policy, even if they turn out to be incorrect. We are committed to ensuring that no one experiences any negative repercussions as a result of reporting in good faith their concern that modern slavery in any form is or may be occurring in any aspect of our business. Negative treatment involves termination, disciplinary action, threats, and other adverse responses to raising an issue. Splendid Care Agency Limited will accept and treat anonymous complaints seriously.
However, maintaining anonymity hinders investigations, complicates validation, and might reduce the efficiency of the process. Therefore, individuals are encouraged to sign their names to allegations. Any assertions or accusations that are malicious or vexatious will result in disciplinary action against the individual.
